What should I wear?
Dress for comfort and dress for the weather. Also, wear whatever you would be comfortable wearing in a barn.
We do have a heated teaching stall for the winter and fans for the summer months.
We are in the barn 70% of the time. We do have a life-size fiberglass horse inside when the weather is too hot or too cold.

What is the class size?
Class size is limited to no more than 6 students. This gives us the best opportunity to focus on helping each student earn their certification.

What type of experience is required?
Horse experience is not necessary. The desire to help the animals is. The range of experience is from those who have never stepped foot into a barn to professional riders and jockeys to veterinarians. The common denominator that is shared is the true desire to help improve the horse's well being. There is no need to be apprehensive around the Equissage horses. They are very kind...and the instructors are too :).

What are the physical/age requirements?
Massaging a horse is not that strenuous...at least not as strenuous as one would think. You will learn to apply the correct pressure on each learned muscle group. In those lessons, you will learn that not every muscle group needs a great deal of pressure. You do not need to be super strong...99% of our graduates are not body builders. There is no height requirement, nor is there a height we suggest people to be.
The minimum age requirement is 16, with parental permission.

Where do your students stay during their week at Equissage?
The majority of our students stay at the Best Western Hotel in Leesburg. They provide a shuttle from Washington Dulles Airport and the shuttle comes out to Equissage too. Is anything included in the cost of my tuition?
We provide lunch each day from local restaurants for our students. We are able to provide both vegetarian lunches. We do our best to provide gluten free lunches, but cannot guarantee availability.

Is my deposit or payment refundable?
Once you pay your deposit, it is non-refundable as it holds your spot. However, we do understand that situations come up unexpectedly and do our best to find a class with an opening. We will transfer your confirmation to another class and you are not required to pay another deposit. The only exception to that is if a transfer is made more than once. Any deposit made will be applied to the balance due on the first day of your On Site session. Session fees are not refundable.

What is the total cost?
The total cost for each program is $995 and the payment is non-refundable. There are No other costs involved or associated with the program. We do not charge for shipping, nor do we charge for the evaluation.

The program will be sent out Priority Mail the business day after payment is received and processed. We process payments the same day they were received.

Is there a time limit?
There is no time limit or time frame in which the program needs to be completed. The home study programs are designed to truly be at your own pace.

How will I know that I am doing the massage correctly?
As part of your final evaluation, you will need to send in a video of you doing a massage. We will review the video it and let you know if there are any corrections that need to be made.
