Mission Statement

To ensure that our students are receiving the most thorough, complete curriculum available.
Firmly hold to the offering of our curriculum both at our facility and through the homestudy courses at a reasonable and fair cost.
In doing so, we will make the therapy more accessible to those wanting to pursue a career as a Certified Equine or Canine Massage Therapist.

Should a Vet be licensed to practice on humans before practicing on animals?
The answer, is of course no. Obviously the same should go for those who are certified animal massage therapists.

Regarding Vet Laws: We have received many inquiries from prospective students regarding veterinary regulations in various states, including Virginia. While these laws do exist none have been enforced. The reason: When a person wants a massage, he or she does not need permission from a doctor, nor does the therapist need to get permission from a doctor before performing a massage. Massage is not veterinary medicine nor is it human medicine. If a COURT were to rule on this law, it would most likely and logically be declared unconstitutional.

Equissage now offers an optional dual certification program for Equine and Canine Massage Certification. The dual certification will be held once a month. For those wishing to obtain a dual certification, the cost will be $1895 (combines the cost of each program). Again, this is an optional dual certification. Should you choose to attend the Equine Massage program, you may come during any one of our scheduled weeks. The dual certification will be in session from Monday through Saturday. If you only participate in the Equine Massage program, your session will be Monday through Friday.

Equissage announces the opportunity to study one on one with Equissage founder and Chief Instructor, Mary Schreiber. Studies have shown the benefits of learning one on one in any educational setting far surpass a group setting. We are proud to offer this program. The course length would be Monday through Friday and would take place on a week we are not teaching. The cost of the One on One program is $3000. Please contact us for more information and to sign up.

Please refer to the Program Schedule link at the top of the Equine On-Site program page to view available dates for the optional dual certifcation and hands on session for the canine massage program.

*Regarding each home study course: Doing the home study course allows you complete the course you choose at your own pace. We do suggest that you plan to spend 50 hours of learning at the minimum. We do not set your start or finish time, again you are able to complete the course on your time. Also, when you are taking the home study course, we at Equissage are here and stand ready to assist you whenever you may have a question. The home study course is available to those living outside the United States.

Equine Home Study: $895.00
Canine Home Study: $895.00
